SUV Fatality in Northern Jasper County

A two vehicle crash between a semi pulling a flatbed trailer hauling two steel coils and an SUV, resulted in the death of the driver of the SUV.  He was 30 year old Justin A. Hardesty, of Crown Point.  According to a press release from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, the crash took place in the early morning hours on Thursday, March 16th, as the semi and trailer, driven by 59 year old Terral Brown of Adamsville, Alabama, was exiting the Love’s Travel Center on State Road 10, at the Interstate 65 interchange, heading west.  The SUV was traveling east at a high rate of speed when it impacted the trailer.  Upon arrival, county law enforcement observed Hardesty had received life threatening injuries.  Keener Township Fire and EMS arrived at the scene to assist, but a short time later Hardesty passed away.  Brown was not injured.
