Indiana Legislature Creates New Commission For Kankakee And Yellow Rivers

The Indiana Legislature voted this past session to create the Kankakee River Basin and Yellow River Basin Development Commission, and eight northwest Indiana counties, including Jasper and Newton, will be assessed a fee to make the rivers better and to help prevent the destructive flooding that often occurs.
